The METALIST is Dean Jenicek, a local artist who uses heat and hammer to transform discarded metal from this historic mining region into functional and aesthetic items for home, garden, and camp. 

Dean, the skier, has appeared on the cover and pages of POWDER magazine and other publications, skied for stock video footage for Warren Miller (and others), patrolled for years, instructed for years and won the  Schweitzer Mountain gong show by standing on his head and drinking a beer upside down with skis on.
